Homework Policy:
Somethings to practice at home. Writing- They should know how to write complete sentences with correct capitals and punctuation and how to write a paragraph. They should also be able to write nice and neat. To practice, have them write about people they know, fiction stories, anything. Then have them read their writing to you and fix any mistakes they find. Reading- They should be able to read smoothly and tell you what they've read with details. They should also be able to prove their answers with the text and their life experiences. To work on this, have them read to you and talk about their reading, ask them questions. Math- They should be able to add and subtract up to three digit numbers that include regrouping (borrowing or carrying). Give them problems and have them walk through and solve it with you. They should also start practicing multiplication & division facts. I have many games on our website for that. Have them tell you the time. Have them count coins. |
